Your T1D Dietitian
Hi, I'm Amanda
During my senior year of high school at the age of 18, I was blindsided by a life-altering diagnosis: type 1 diabetes. It hit me like a ton of bricks, leaving me feeling lost, overwhelmed, and filled with fear of my future. Determined to take control of my health, I ultimately became hyper-fixated on measuring every piece of food and drastically reducing my carbohydrate intake.

It was during this challenging period that I made the decision to pursue a career as a registered dietitian nutritionist to deepen my understanding of diabetes and nutrition even more. Throughout my academic career, I discovered a transformative truth: people with diabetes don’t have to sacrifice the foods they love in order to maintain healthy blood sugar levels.

Now after more than a decade, I have transformed my own journey into a guiding light for others who face the same challenges of restriction, obsession, and anxiety around food.
Armed with both personal experience and professional expertise, I have the incredible privilege of supporting individuals with type 1 diabetes and their families.
Together, we rewrite the narrative of diabetes, replacing fear and restriction with empowerment and possibility.

T1D FOR 13 YEARS
"I have an A1C at a healthy standard when previously it was pushing 9-10. I am able to have a healthy relationship with food whether it's regarding carb counting, nutrition/digestion, and effects on blood sugars, as well as non-diabetic related things like restricting foods to punish myself."

"A lot of people don't understand what it's like to live with diabetes, so it was important to me to add a key player to my diabetes team who actually gets it and that's Amanda for me! I am so thankful for this program - it's given me my life back."
