Beyond the Basics

Traditional diabetes education often stops at general advice, leaving you to navigate the complexities of Type 1 Diabetes alone. But 'good enough' isn't good enough when your health is at stake. Working with a specialized T1D dietitian transforms that advice into personalized strategies, empowering you to truly master your diabetes management.

Your T1D Dietitian

Hi, I'm Amanda

During my senior year of high school at the age of 18, I was blindsided by a life-altering diagnosis: type 1 diabetes. It hit me like a ton of bricks, leaving me feeling lost, overwhelmed, and filled with fear of my future. Determined to take control of my health, I ultimately became hyper-fixated on measuring every piece of food and drastically reducing my carbohydrate intake.

It was during this challenging period that I made the decision to pursue a career as a registered dietitian nutritionist to deepen my understanding of diabetes and nutrition even more. Throughout my academic career, I discovered a transformative truth: people with diabetes don’t have to sacrifice the foods they love in order to maintain healthy blood sugar levels.

Now after more than a decade, I have transformed my own journey into a guiding light for others who face the same challenges of restriction, obsession, and anxiety around food.

Armed with both personal experience and professional expertise, I have the incredible privilege of supporting individuals with type 1 diabetes and their families.

Together, we rewrite the narrative of diabetes, replacing fear and restriction with empowerment and possibility.
