Type 1 Diabetes Dietitian
Covered by Insurance

Diabetes advice is often oversimplified, generic, and expects you to handle the hardest parts of T1D on your own. As a dietitian who lives with T1D, I bridge the gap between clinical guidelines and your everyday reality—so you can navigate diabetes feeling confident, capable, and fully supported.

And with insurance coverage, getting the support you deserve doesn't have to come at a cost.

HOW IT WORKS

Diabetes is Hard, Getting Support is Simple

Living with T1D comes with many ongoing costs including insulin, diabetes supplies and everything in between. Luckily, most insurance plans cover visits with a registered dietitian, so you can get expert guidance without adding more to your ongoing T1D costs.

Here's how the process works:

Request Your Session

Choose a date and time for your initial session using the online calendar.

Upload Required Documents

Share your insurance card and photo ID, and we'll reach out to your insurance provider to see if your sessions are covered.

Get Ongoing Support

At the end of your first session, we'll determine together what ongoing session frequency makes sense to you.

Since our calendar fills quickly, we will reserve your appointment date/time while we verify your coverage. If your plan doesn't cover the session, we'll let you know in advance so you can cancel at no cost or explore other ways to work together.

Takes less than 2 minutes. No commitment.

ACCEPTED INSURANCE PLANS

In-Network with Most Major Insurance Plans

We are in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (all major state plans), Blue Cross Blue Shield: Anthem, CareFirst, Empire, Florida Blue, Horizon, Independence Blue Cross, Premera, and Regence, Meritain Health, United Healthcare, Oxford Health, Optum Health, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare.

Hi, I'm Amanda!

I was 18 years old when I was diagnosed on February 12, 2012. Overnight, food went from something I never thought about to something I was terrified of getting wrong — and there was no one around who truly understood what that felt like.

I initially became a dietitian for completely selfish reasons. I wanted answers for myself. I wanted to understand my own body, my own blood sugars, and my own complicated new relationship with food.

But somewhere along the way, I realized my experience wasn't unique. Most people with T1D are out there navigating the same fear, the same confusion, the same feeling of being left to figure it out alone — when they absolutely shouldn't have to.

That realization is what drives everything I do. I'm not just your dietitian. I'm a fellow T1D who has sat exactly where you're sitting— and found a way through.
