  • How do I check my insurance coverage?
I strongly encourage you to check insurance coverage before your appointment. Even if you have an excellent insurance policy it does not mean you have coverage for nutritional services. To check your insurance coverage: Contact your insurance provider directly by calling the 800 number on the back of your insurance card. Provide them with my name and NPI number: Amanda Ciprich/ NPI:1447873492. Do I have nutrition services on my current insurance policy? Please ask for the specific coverage for CPT codes. Is ICD10 Code E10.9 covered? Does my plan cover telehealth services? Does my plan require a MD referral? How many MEDICAL MNT visits do I have per calendar year? How many PREVENTATIVE MNT visits do I have per calendar year? What is considered a calendar year for my current policy? Do i have a deductible for nutrition services? If so, have I met my deductible? Do I have a co-pay or co-insurance for nutrition counseling? What is the reference number for the call? Please note the reference number for the call- if there is an issue with billing, this reference number can be used to clarify any mistakes with your insurance provider.

Your T1D Dietitian

Hi, I'm Amanda

During my senior year of high school at the age of 18, I was blindsided by a life-altering diagnosis: type 1 diabetes. It hit me like a ton of bricks, leaving me feeling lost, overwhelmed, and filled with fear of my future. Determined to take control of my health, I ultimately became hyper-fixated on measuring every piece of food and drastically reducing my carbohydrate intake.

It was during this challenging period that I made the decision to pursue a career as a registered dietitian nutritionist to deepen my understanding of diabetes and nutrition even more. Throughout my academic career, I discovered a transformative truth: people with diabetes don’t have to sacrifice the foods they love in order to maintain healthy blood sugar levels.

Now after more than a decade, I have transformed my own journey into a guiding light for others who face the same challenges of restriction, obsession, and anxiety around food.

Armed with both personal experience and professional expertise, I have the incredible privilege of supporting individuals with type 1 diabetes and their families.

Together, we rewrite the narrative of diabetes, replacing fear and restriction with empowerment and possibility.
